Every healthcare office in the United States has a procedure for registering patients, typically referred to
as a Sign In Sheet or Pad.
 
Many regulations instituted by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act)
are beginning to question these practices.

I, and a team of computer specialists, have worked diligently on a product that will both protect the privacy
of patients and insure a safe and efficient way to store signatures. Sign-In Electronicallyä was founded to
meet the needs of the health care professional.  The product is a signature capture device.
It is placed in the area reserved for the sign-in sheet and attached to the computer by way of the USB Port.

When the patient enters the facility they are instructed to sign in. The computer does the rest.
Signature/Date/Time are automatically recorded. Additional information - file number, patient tracking and notes
can be added to the patient’s record. The file is then stored in an encrypted database,
which can be viewed, searched and printed.

The Capture device, or tablet, is manufactured by Topaz Systems, Inc. Topaz tablets have captured
more e-signatures than all other portable signature capture tablets in the past 5 years. Topaz tablets
have been designed from the ground up for signature capture applications. 
Artist tablets and various touchpad products simply do not give as good a signature and are
dependent on complicated driver settings to work properly.  Topaz gives you the most points,
the truest signatures and the most accurately measured biometric records - accurate to 0.2%.
