No, these devices have no memory or any type of database;
that is done within the confines of your computer.
The signatures are saved on your computer in the Sign-In Electronically™ file.
They can be retrieved later for viewing or printing.

Do these devices run on battery power?

The Signature Gem 1X5 capture device is powered by the USB Port located on the CPU.
The pen or stylus of the Signature Gem 1X5 Tablet uses 2 common watch/calculator batteries.
The Z-T-LBK755SEBH (4X3) stylus is powered by the USB Port

Can I Search Data in the program?

Yes all Basic & XL programs will allow for data entry searches.
Examples: Search by dates, file numbers,  wild cards...

Can I change the Column Headings?

Yes, the headings can be changed by clicking on File-> Preferences.
  
Is there a limit to the number of providers or procedures the Multiple Service System will accept?

No, the list is virtually limitless.

Is the program difficult to install?

No.
With our in depth step by step instructions and screen prompts the program basically installs itself.

Is there an instruction manual?

 Yes. The program installs an instruction manual in PDF format and can be printed or viewed as well as downloading one from our website.

What if I have different user accounts during my daily computer use?

Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7 allow the computer to be set up for more than one user.
The Sign-In Electronically™ programs can be set up and used also for more than one user on the same computer Instructions.

I have a multiple service facility. Which tablet should I choose?

If you have a larger facility the Signature Gem 4X3 is recommended.

Can I use a bar code scanner to enter information in the File Number/Notes Columns?

Yes, most generic bar code scanners can be used to enter alphanumeric characters.
 

 I would like to print the signatures only at the end of the day, can I?

 Yes. Two choices are offered
 Report 1      [ #, Time/Date, Signature]
 Report #2    [ #, Time/Date, Signature, File Number & Notes]

 

Can I back-up the program?

Any time the main program is closed you are given a choice to back-up the Master Database.

Is there a way to archive the signatures/database?

Yes, the Archive feature in the basic & XL versions allows archiving any part of the database from the earliest entry to a user selected date, leaving the active Master database more manageable.

With privacy issues on everyone's mind how are the signatures stored?

The signatures are encrypted and very secure.
The Database and Archive can only be opened by the SIE Program.

Is there a limit to the number of signatures the program will accept?

Will the program work with Microsoft Windows?

The program was designed to work with Microsoft operating systems 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.
Please note: This program may have conflicts with older DOS Based non-multitasking programs.

When using the Remote Version (network) how do I update the list?

The list can be updated manually or automatically.

Does the device come with cables and software?

Yes, the device comes with a 6' cable and software.
For sign-in locations farther than 6' from your PC, a 10 foot extension cable is available for a minimal charge.

What if I need more than 16 feet?

A USB Cable extender can be purchased from Radio Shack...the product is made by IOGEAR.

Do I plug this device into a 120V outlet for a power supply?

No, your USB port on the computer powers the device.
